Population growth in Boise and around the Treasure Valley in the last decade has also seen a rise of performing arts events. Theater, music, comedy, burlesque, and Drag shows are but a few areas seeing an expansion. Finding and remembering when and where these events take place, or who is putting them on, can sometimes be difficult.
Enter stage left: Arts Boise
The name is Boise but the site encompasses the Treasure Valley (and perhaps slightly beyond). The goal is to create a centralized community arts website offering event listings across a variety of entertainment disciplines. A go-to place where audiences can visit this website and accompanying social media channels (Facebook and Instagram, for now) to check out what's happening across Boise and the Treasure Valley.

We all have our favorite theater companies, groups, musicians, bands, performers, and so on. And hopefully you already have a way to keep up with them and their events, performances, and gigs. With this website, we aim to bring to the forefront not only your favorites but a wide range of events and information. A place that can serve as a reminder or a way to discover a new band, venue, performer, or any number of art happenings in the Treasure Valley.
A primary focus will be on theater companies, troupes, and performing arts groups. Listed on the site will primarily be upcoming shows with a theater, plus a page dedicated to the who/what/where of a company.
There is also a page dedicated to venues in the Treasure Valley (a page that will continue to grow) and art spaces to check out new exhibitions. Add in events and concerts, audiences will find the bucket overflows with entertainment in Boise and beyond. That in mind, we likely missed one or two (or 11) events, groups, and performers. Future plans for Arts Boise
This little website will be a constant work in progress, in which the basics of groups, events, dates, and more will be listed. Eventually, we'd love to do features on specific shows, concerts, festivals, and the like with interviews and spotlights with content and/or video. Even one day, an app to track down events all in one place.
For now, we hope you enjoy this simple way to stay connected and keep up-to-date with performing arts events around the Treasure Valley.
