Arts Boise: One year later and going forward with gusto

In July 2024, Arts Boise launched into the world. The goal was to bring to the Treasure Valley a centralized website to see what was happening in theater, music, performing arts, comedy, burlesque, drag shows, art openings, and more.
Mission accomplished (we like to believe). And we have only just begun. (Cue The Carpenters)
Twelve months of feeling the process out has supplied positives and negatives. With any new launch, trial and error are a big part of finding out what works and what doesn't. Feedback and having discussions with so many artists, companies, and groups around the valley has been outstanding. Much appreciation to all who followed the social pages of Arts Boise, shared posts and events, and helped to take the site up a level.
Heading into year two, the next step is ready to be taken. To continue to grow, expand, and help reach more people is the goal.
Growth for Arts Boise and what that means
In the coming year, there are a handful of goals and improvements on tap for the Arts Boise website.
One of the first is to add a fully integrated calendar to go along with the event listings and venues on this website. One of the goals with this, too, is to have an easier way for individuals, companies, promoters, and more to add their events (rather than sending an email or doing the research ourselves). Along with that is updating the venues section and the performing arts groups section.
As always, you can reach out to artsboise1@gmail.com with upcoming dates, your group/club, and more.
Another project for the upcoming year is to start a series of interviews with local artists, performers, etc. This is a fantastic way to highlight individuals and more who are contributing to the vibrant art scene across the Treasure Valley.
That in mind, a goal is to also share even more that is happening around the valley, not just in Boise and Garden City. While listings on this site certainly include events happening in Nampa, Caldwell, Eagle, Meridian, Kuna, Star, Mountain Home and beyond, there is an opportunity to list even more.
With the above items in mind, more time and work are involved. That is why Arts Boise is looking to expand with sponsors, advertising, donations, and what that might look like for the Treasure Valley.
An ask and a survey, for pleasure
An original aim for this site was to allow visitors to Arts Boise (both local and those out-of-town-guests looking for activities) to see listings for free. Theater, performing arts, burlesque, comedy, and more deserve a lot of attention that gets overlooked, especially when these events are not often listed all in one place for people to peruse.
The tougher avenue is asking non-profit organizations to contribute or donate when budgeted money is tight to begin with. Especially in this day and age, where we know certain avenues of money are drying up.
In running the Arts Boise site, devoted time and energy is currently what propels it forward. That said, there is the question of what might advertising or sponsorship packages look like? Monthly or yearly commitments? A price point for non-profit organizations on a seasonal basis (or per production)? In exchange for ads/sponsorship, there will be write-ups on events, social media shares, home page features, and more.
Or, even a simple donation to help keep the lights on over here would be welcomed and much appreciated!
Regarding these things and more, your opinion matters so let us know what you think about sponsorships, promo packages, ads, and donations. You can reach out via email ( artsboise1@gmail.com ) and/or also filling out this quick, three-question survey via this Google form.
Thank you for a fantastic first year and here's to many more to come, sharing events around the Treasure Valley!
